Piqueos, a contemporary Peruvian tapas bar in Bernal Heights, offers an original concept in Peruvian dining. We have created a unique menu of small plates and entrees, combining authentic Peruvian ingredients with a modern Latin American flair. Our chef, Carlos Altamirano, was born in the mountainous coastal region of southern Peru. He brings his understanding of traditional Peruvian cuisine and his passion for innovative cooking to Piqueos, to create an unusual, delicious Latin American dining experience.
Chef Altamirano has worked in some of San Francisco’s best restaurants since arriving in the U.S. in 1994. He opened Mochica in 2004, which has received excellent reviews for its accomplished Peruvian fusion cuisine. Piqueos has received critical acclaim as well. Our décor is charming and chic, two cozy rooms painted in serene green with dark wood tables, with an open kitchen so you can watch our busy chefs at work. Or take a seat on our festive back patio.
